Description
VENOFER INJ 20MG/ML 5ML(POM)
Overview
Venofer Injection 20mg/ml is an iron replacement therapy used to treat iron deficiency anemia (IDA) in patients who cannot tolerate or do not respond adequately to oral iron supplements. Each millilitre contains 20mg of elemental iron as iron sucrose, a form that allows safe and effective intravenous administration.
Venofer helps replenish iron stores, supports red blood cell production, and restores energy levels in individuals suffering from chronic anemia due to conditions such as chronic kidney disease (CKD), blood loss, or poor nutritional absorption. The sterile 5ml vial ensures precise dosing and clinical reliability under professional supervision.
How It Works
Venofer contains iron sucrose, a stable complex of iron and sucrose that the body can easily absorb and utilize. Once administered intravenously, it releases iron directly into the bloodstream, where it binds with transferrin and ferritin — proteins that transport and store iron in the body.
This process helps restore hemoglobin levels, increase oxygen transport, and reduce symptoms of fatigue, weakness, and shortness of breath associated with anemia. Unlike some iron formulations, Venofer has a low risk of allergic reactions and offers a predictable safety profile.
Benefits
-
Effectively treats iron deficiency anemia in adults and children.
